Lawn & Landscape Crew Member
Shakopee,
MN,
United States
We're Heads Up Outdoor Services, a locally owned crew in Shakopee that takes care of lawns and yards across the southwest Twin Cities. We're looking for someone to join our crew year-round. In the warm months you're mowing, cleaning up yards, laying mulch, and helping build patios and walls. When it snows, you're out clearing driveways and lots. You don't need experience. If you show up on time and are willing to work, we'll teach you the rest.
What you'll actually do
Most days you're on a truck with a couple other guys, hitting a route of yards. Here's the real work:
- Run a mower, trimmer, edger, and blower, and knock out a full route of lawns cleanly.
- Spring and fall cleanups: raking, hauling brush and leaves, cutting back beds.
- Spread mulch, plant, lay sod, and haul rock and soil where it needs to go.
- Help the crew build patios and retaining walls (moving pavers and block, prepping base, backfilling).
- Keep your truck and trailer loaded, fueled, and cleaned up, and keep the gear running right.
- In winter, clear snow and lay down ice melt on driveways, walks, and lots, early mornings when it comes down.
- Treat every yard like someone's home, because it is. Clean edges, gates shut, nothing left behind.
What we're looking for
- You show up on time, ready to work, even on the hot days and the cold ones.
- You're okay being on your feet, outside, lifting and bending most of the day. This is physical work.
- A valid driver's license helps a lot. A clean record and comfort towing a trailer is a plus, not a must.
- You take some pride in doing a job right instead of just fast.
- No landscaping experience needed. We train you on the equipment and how we do things.
Schedule & pay
This is a full-time job with year-round potential, lawn and landscape work through the season, snow removal in winter. Weekday hours, with earlier starts on snow days. Longer days when the weather cooperates and the work is there, so there's overtime to be had.
Pay runs about $19 to $25 an hour, depending on your experience and how you work once you're on the crew. New folks start toward the lower end and move up as they get the hang of it. We pay weekly. (Final pay is set when we talk, this is the honest range for the work.)
Why work here
We're a small, locally owned outfit, not a big call-center company where you're a number. You'll know the owner and work next to real people. We started in 2020 and hold a 4.9 on Google because we actually care how the work turns out, and that starts with the crew. There's room to grow here, pick up skills, take on more, and earn more as you go. And if you like being outside and going home knowing you got something done, this beats a desk.
If that sounds like your kind of work, hit the apply button below and tell us a little about yourself. We'll be in touch. Consider it handled.
